okay, so /dev/sequencer is not an hardware mixing device, because sb16 is
not capable of hardware mixing.

strangely enough, when "xmp" opens up a module and starts to play it on my
Gravis, it opens the /dev/sequencer, loads up the samples in on-board
memory, and then plays it obviously hardware mixed. [or else it would be
completely useless to load the samples into memory]

same test on my Sb AWE32 ; i did not have a sb16 for anymore tests.


Or maybe is this optionally hardware mixing, else software emulated if the
driver provides it..
