Well you know that is what my subscription to this
list is about. Helping me become more proficient at
Linux, while at the same time helping to develop a
more stable user friendly OS.
I have always been by nature a tinkerer and used MSDOS
exstensively for years. Probably why I "took" to using
the command line so readily in Linux. So much to learn
though. I will get it, over the next several years
though<grin>.
I should mention as well that I have a 400 mhz celeron
machine made by Emachines here in the US. It is
basically a cheap computer. I upgraded the ram since
it only came with 32. The point being that you can
take note and put this particular machine as being
completely Linux compatible. I have not tried Hydrogen
on it. But 7.02 does not recognize the sound that is
built onto the motherboard. It is a Crystal chipset.
No matter anyway since I just disabled it and used an
old AWE64 that I had left over from one of my other
boxes.
Any idea if we can get the bandwidth increased on the
mirrors for the ISO's? I download at work since I work
for a telecommunications company(read this as I can
suck up the bandwidth). I can see the reason for shape
routing the traffic, but think that 15 to 17 is a
little slow. It took me 12 hours to download the 1st
ISO. Not complaining just thinking it would be nice
for those of us who have the capacity to grab it up to
dl in a couple hours and be done with it.
Cheers,
Mel
