must depend on the routers used to go from you to the mirrors. for example
here in MandrakeSoft's office in Paris we have 60-80 kbytes/sec with
free.fr which is a nice mirror for ISO's.
the other day i wanted to try out LinuxOne 2.0, I spent several hours to
download it ; can't remember the number of hours, but I know the rate was
less than 1000 bytes per second.. [for those who don't want to spend the
time to download it: it seems to be heavily based on a Mandrake 6.1]
