just curious as to why this hasn't been fixed, or even confirmed for that matter when 
clearly it's 
important (>100% cpu usage problem) and lot's of people have reported this problem. 
This is 
a duplicate btw. textar reported it A WHILE back. just hasn't been fixed yet.

Click on the home icon on the KDE panel. A window pops up showing the files in $HOME 
directory. The directory keeps on refreshing until the ESC key is pressed. And all the 
while it 
creates hundreds of empty files named .fonts.cache-1.TMP-* . If the reload button is 
pressed 
the empty file creation starts all over again.
