description:
Desktop: A7V Bios 1011, Asus 8200 Deluxe GF3 video card.

In 9.1 Beta 3, RC1, and RC2, X improperly renders the desktop and forms. Where
a form or the desktop should have wallpaper or it's appropriate form background,
it is transparent showing the desktop or residual images of what should be
there, but all scrambled. Controls (buttons) become visible with a mouse over.
But the back grounds, text remain scrambled, thus making X next to impossible
to use. On rare installation compounded with a rare boot, X sort of renders
properly. I have not seen this with any past distro (mandrake or other). I did
try to build and install NVIDIA drivers but they cause X not to boot at all.
Mandrake does render on my MACH64 IBM A22M laptop.
