I don't see the line "default-mru" with all the other options in the logs... Are
you sure you saved that file before dialing?
I need the information from the following files:
/var/log/messages, /var/log/daemons/info, /var/log/daemons/errors and
/var/log/daemons/warnings.
There is an option in pppd to log to a file, we might want to add:
logfile /var/log/gnome-ppp
To the /etc/ppp/options file.
As for your last questions, it seems kppp is very friendly with the existing
configuration, it will use /etc/ppp/options file, and will take the users from
pap-secrets, etc, while gnome-ppp is badly behaved.
I strongly suggest we install kppp by default (5 in rpmsrate), and drop
gnome-ppp, even for gnome users.

I had to install KPPP to connect to the internet over a modem. Gnome RPM should
either work, or KPPP should be installed by default instead. The following are
the log entries relating to this bug:
