Is this really a duplicate of 1245 or is it more that drakconnect is not aware 
of modem connections and he couldn't connect with net_monitor ? He was 
assuming faulty that net_monitor requires kppp. sionce this is not true, the 
bug may be still valid. Could someone doublecheck that net_monitor can handle 
dialup connections ? bug 3142 is very similar  to this bug, but with isdn.

The report says drakconnect is not ware of the modem.
