Could you PLEASE not mix everything in your comment.. It is becoming almost
impossible to understand..
I guess you have a DNS resolution problem..
Could you try running /usr/lib/gconf-sanity-check-2 :
1/when your ADSL connection is UP
2/when your ADSL connection is DOWN
Also try running host `hostname` in both cases..
