It stops after the line: OK Now booting the kernel....... I've had the same problem with 8.2 and 9.0 which I never could install. However the problem was gone in 9.1 Beta3 which I succefully installed. It sound like a kernel problems but I cannot apply any patches during boot since the kernel doesn't even start. Not even a single line of output, just the two lines: Uncompressing the kernel........... OK Now booting the kernel............ Then the system just stay in the this state for ever. What sort of extra information would you need to fix this? I've got a 9.1 Beta3 currently running on this machine and everything seems to work fine kernel wise. I have a packard bell i-Media PC with the following component: Processor Athlon XP 1600+ and 256 Mb of RAM.
