------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-03-17 17:41 -------
I downloaded a network.img dated March 14, 2003. Assuming this has the latest
kernel build, I can confirm that it does have the same problem. Hangs at the
same place on boot.

Additional info:

I had originally stated that this problem didn't exist with Mandrake 8.2. I
have just discovered that although kernel-2.4.18-6mdk, that was the default
for Mandrake 8.2, works fine on this hardware. However,
kernel-secure-2.4.18-6.mdk *does* have this problem.

After pressing Enter to install, the installer hangs. If I hit F1 and use

before it hangs:

The system is a brand new ECS K7VMM mainboard, AMD Athlon XP 2100+
processor, 512MB PC2100 (DDR266) ram. All other peripherals (video,
network, audio, etc.) all are onboard.

I can install Mandrake 8.2 fine. The 9.0 release has this problem. The 9.1
RC1 has this problem.
