Absolutely.
In fact, the optimization level is quite trivial.
What's important is that video and math programs can be rebuilt to take advantage of architecture-specific optimizations, like mmx/sse or P4/athlon specific instrction sets.


We do not want people rebuilding the whole distro. It's a waste of time and energy.
