Can you elaborate on this ?

It seems to me that it's more the Window-Manager's job [and apps!] -- I
mean, what you would like is to be able to launch apps, interact with
apps, with hotkeys, that's it?

Alt-F2 to launch a prog, Ctrl-Esc to launch the Starter, etc?
