           Product: filesystem
         Component: filesystem
Summary: During installation, choosing 'reiserfs' for a partition
and then changing to ext3 results in unbootable system
                    after install
           Version: 2.1.3-7mdk
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
        AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
        ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

If you do a manual partition during the install, choose ReiserFS for a
partition, and then change your mind and switch it to ext3 (not deleting it,
just changing its filetype), the installer does not remove the 'notail' flag.
The fstab is built with 'notail', and the system refuses to mount the
partition properly. If this partition was your root partition, you're really
hosed; the machine won't boot.

This is an OLD bug, it has been around for a LONG time, at least two years.
It has bitten me before.

I hope I categorized it properly. I did my best.
