Leon, I know you are very far to Spain, but ftp.rediris.es is runing fine, perhpas you can test it. Here we have a fast conection (University-->rediris) and at work (University) I have downloaded it at 1,3 Mb/s. Obviously the conection from Australia will be slower, but you can try.
