My lilo.conf file included: append="quiet devfs=mount hdc=ide-scsi acpi=off"
I changed it to: append="quiet devfs=mount hdc=ide-scsi acpi=on"
So I guess ACPI should be running now, but it doesn't look like...
My fan cooler is still running and the battery applet on Gnome is always showing
an empty battery icon (?).
