Using a new user account fixed it for that account (must investigate on my normal account). Tim, using a new account also showed that kio_lan does work, kio_smb works partially (I can connect to all machines and list shares, but can only get into some shares, and in those I can get to, kio_smb still is not as reliable as it should be). kio_fish and the FTP/HTTP KIOs work fine from kio_lan. BTW, I am also looking for some people to test my new lisa init script. Put http://ranger.dnsalias.com/mandrake/9.1/lisa in /etc/rc.d/init.d, rename your current /etc/lisarc, and restart the lisa service: # mv /etc/lisarc /etc/lisarc.orig # service lisa restart If it does not work for you, please give me 1) the output of: $ /sbin/route -n 2)The /etc/lisarc generated by the init script 3)The /etc/lisarc generated by the KDE control center module 4)Tell me which interfaces listed in (1) are internal and which are external.
