Bamboo : 9.1
I have two identical ethernet cards VT6105 [Rhine III 10/100]
using the Module: ‎via-rhine. They work fine with Mdk 9.0
eth0 => adsl
eth1 => local network
It was impossible to configure this with drakconnect. Reason:
# adsl-start
/usr/sbin/adsl-start: /etc/ppp/pppoe.conf: line 24: syntax error near unexpected
token `('
/usr/sbin/adsl-start: /etc/ppp/pppoe.conf: line 24: `ETH=eth0 (using module
via-rhine)'
# gvim /etc/ppp/pppoe.conf
.....I cut the line 24 to let only: ETH=eth0
I hope it will be easy to fix now !
I have made two fresh install and each time it was the same problem.
Th eexpression "(using module via-rhine)" is never shown for eth1.
A strange observation : the static adress 10.0.0.10 of eth0 never appears on
drakconnect.

description:
i set up a very standard installation (installed pretty much everything) and
mandrake refuses to assign a real IP through dhcp.. or access the internet at
all
it seems to sit at 'starting eth0' for a long time at startup as well..
i've been through the configuration and its all correct. i've also tried
connecting through a tested and working NAT.
the other linux installations i've had (slackware 8.1, mandrake 8.something,
redhat, freebsd) have all worked fine with my setup. windows, which is
installed on the same machine, can access the internet no problem.
im not sure where to start, nothing is wrong with the configuration, and it
should work fine...
