During the bootup the messages stop at "initalizing interface eth0" for about one
minute.
My server machine runnung dhcpd reports during this time:

truncated-ip - 256 bytes missing! 0.0.0.bootpc > 255.255.255.255.bootpc: xid:0xa5a6d67

When I try to restart network, the same happens. The messages are below:

As a result, the host does not receive a correct IP address (that should be
192.168.0.2)
nor host name nor domainname.
It's definitely not the server and not Vaio's hardware: everything worked just fine on
the
same Vaio machine under Mandrake 8.0 and the original kernel before I upgraded to
LM9.1rc2. I suspected dhcpcd first, but the network is up with a 3com PCMCIA (apart
from the fact that domainname is not received but hostname, yes. !??)

Thanks you for your help!
