I have this bug or a very close one on all 3 computers i've installed it on and
in a vmware 4.0 install on my laptop. I've only noticed it when i do a select
individual pakages. After i select so many packages it freezes and won't let me
un/select any more packages and the cursor freezes. The way i got around it was
to simply scroll down till the packages that were being displayed are off the
screen the system will unfreeze and repeatedly select and unselect whatever
package your currently over the number of times you clicked your mouse to
un/selecet a packages when it froze up...

I am trying to install mandrake-9.1 as follows:
- installation from iso (located on hard-drive)
- graphical mode used
- install partition is ext2 (formatted and checked for bad blocks)
The installer always freezes at the point where I begin selection/deselection
of the individual packages. When I expand the tree list and unselect a
package, the mouse cursor starts flickering and then X freezes so that reboot
is the only way out.
On the same machine, mandrake-9.0 can be installed smoothly using the exact
same method.
This bug is almost same as bug 2765 and may be related to bug 2014.
