------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-04-02 01:19 -------
When the you try to logout from kde/gnome the screen goes blank. No text, no kdm/gdm
or mdkgdm. When halt or init commands are issued within the kde console the system
shuts down or restarts, etc.

This problem exists on Omnibook XE3 laptops (that use i830 chip).

When you try to install XFree86-server-4.3-6mdk.rpm or -6.1mdk.rpm rpm command
gives error.

A great disappointment with Mandrake 9.1 as MDK 9.0 was working fine.

1. Log in to Mandrake 9.1 RC2 as any user (including root) using KDM (user has
the KDE environment).

2. Do whatever.

3. Logout from the KDE environment.

4. After logout the screen goes blank, the signal from the graphics card
switches off and you cannot get any login screen up (textual or graphical).
Under 9.0 the screen would blank before X starts up with KDM again, this does
not appear to be happening under 9.1RC2.

I am using a dual P-III SMP system with an ATI Radeon 64Mbyte DDR graphics card.
