We've discussed this before. Bzip the png icons ==> more work, larger file size Don't bzip the icons ==> they don't show up in the CVS
So the packager has an 'executive' decision to make every time.

hum, seems that small icons are larger in .png.bz2 than in .png, I suppose that's your reason. sorry for being lame.
