Why is this necessary? Doesn't jackd have an init script? Why not just use an init script, and mount your tmpfs in start() in the init script, and umount it in stop()?
No, jack has no init script. Don't know why you'd want one really. I uses a lot of resources, dedicates the soundcard to one user, and excludes all ALSA/OSS apps.
There's a lot of work going on in Jack CVS right now about this journalled filesystem problem. Maybe they will figure out a simpler solution.
I was testing it last night on my laptop, and the latency was horrible no matter what setup I tried. Will play with it some more this weekend.
