Hrm, you seem slightly confused. 3COM cards include:
3C509B - ISA 10MB
3C905B - PCI 10/100MB
Which one do you mean?
They use the following drivers:
3C509B = 3c509.o
3C905B = 3c59x.o
I have found that quite often, using the DOS installation diskette (which
you can download from 3Com's site, it's "Disk 2" I think), and having the
software auto-configure the card will fix any problems, as there may be an
unknown address/IRQ/something conflict that you don't know about that the
software can detect. Usually after doing that, the module works fine.
Don't forget a line in your /etc/conf.modules, "alias eth0 3c59x" or "alias
eth0 3c509".
