doh never mind I um said that wrong. Getmail and fetchmail have other issues
but thats not a mandrake thing. They just hang on some emials. No I meant to
say maildrop has some issues. I know it was intended to be used like i tried
it and many others have it running that way but I never could get it to
properly pipe emails through spamassassin or blackhole and then filter them
to their respective directories depending on if they were spam or virus of
normal mail. I was using maildir for all this and never really did care to
use anthing else because of the benefits I get from it. I tried to use both
qmail and postfix with that setup. I never did and don't care to try
procmail. But anyway sorry for the missinformation earlier.
If you get it running I would truly like to see it. Also this whole setup
would be nice with postfix samba and the system running off of ldap. I'm not
sure don't quote me but I think even pureftp will run off ldap already so I'm
getting that much closer to finally trying out ldap. I've also got enough
test computers here to start trying out running a domain controller.
Sorry to get off subject but is there really any advantage to running cyrus. I
know this has been posted to here before but I'm just not sure I like the way
it handles the mails. At this point I really like and prefer to have the
maildir or similar in the users homedir rather than to maintain it someplace
else.
