Received this from the lad who wrote the first Samba/LDAP article on
http://www.mandrakesecure.net .

I haven't used said help system on 8.2, any comments?

Regards,
Buchan

--- Begin Message --- I have a feature request for 9.2 that is easy to implement and will greatly benefit new Mandrake users and veterans alike.

What I want is a re-indexable, searchable help system like the one that came with Mandrake 8.2 I really think it is important. It might reduce RTFM responses on the lists and sure would have made my life easier when we were working on the LDAP stuff. I know some newbies who would probably kill for it. ;-)

The KDE system that came with 9.1 didn't quite work. It would only search KDE stuff. A button was provided but it didn't seem to do anything.
This was mentioned in bugzilla. Anyway it would be ideal if there were a system that was independant of the Window manager. My suggestion would be a simple re-implementation of the old 8.2 setup. Simply dig the code out of archives and make whatever adjustments.

Would be glad to do this myself except I've graduated and need to get work ASAP so I can begin paying back the $60,000 USD I owe. Uh... unless there were a way I could get paid for doing stuff like that? Hey, probably not but it is worth asking. ;-)
