Yes it could very well be a kernel issue, it is a timing problem, and the old kernel also has the problem. It is triggered by something else. But that shouldn't keep you from just trying a patch. I just found it silly that a large number of people kept posting about the panic in previous kernels while thomas already pointed to the problem. I wanted to stop this from being another pointless thread. I'm currently compiling a kernel with the patch, when it doesn't work you can all start blaming me. Alternatively you can post a stack trace. d.
