I have a couple of quick questions:-

first, i think there is something wrong with the card database for
Xf86config and XF86Setup, it causes a segmentation fault, and then dies
every time i try to use either of those

Second, i have a dual p3 450, running the smp kernal, and i want to install
the beta drivers for my Nvidia TNT2. This has proved to be a near
impossible task. I can barely decipher the config file that was generated
by the installation program, and on top of that, where they say to add lines
for the installation, they don't work when starting X. i am just totally
confused. I didn't have this problem on a friends computer, he is running
slack and i justs installed Xfree86 4 and then did the nvidia config, it
just doesn't seem to work with the auto generated config file (the rpm
install) and i can't make the src rpm or the tarball install work either,
even after 8 hours of tinkering. just recently i did it on a mandrake 7.0
system and it worked fine as well. (downloaded 4.0, then installed the
drivers) I don't know what it is about the config file that comes with 7.1,
i just can't undertsand it. has anyone had similar problems? a tnt2 isn't
THAT rare a video card :)

I'm not trying to use this list for tech support, i've gotten it to work
before, its something about the config file, i just havn't got a clue how to
fix it, i've done everything i can

anyway, i would appreciate any help i could get

seth
