it depends wether /etc/X11/X points to /usr/X11R6/bin/XFree86 or
/usr/X11R6/bin/XF86_something.
In the first case, it is the XF4 server, and it'll try to use XF86Config-4
first, then XF86Config if it fails to find XF86Config-4.

For the latter case (XF86_something), it only tries with XF86Config.

That way you can both on your system and choose which one changing only the
symlink X.
