i couldn't have explained better :-) we need to make all our tools look the same, pack buttons in the same order, use the same icons. if for the same price, (with theme help) they look the same, pack buttons in the same order and use the same icons as other gtk+/gnome apps, ... i've nothing wrong against "cancel / ok" button order because of gnome, ie i've not choose "cancel / ok" order because gnome does, but because most others desktop (macos?, kde, gnome, zindoz, ...) uses that order. maybe some ingeeners in human machine interfaces area have found better layout, but for now, standardize the layout in our tools is good. make it similar to most other apps is even better. the end user is less confused if in all places, he can expect buttons to be where they "should" be, ... just my 2 cents ...
