what do you mean by autoconfigure ?
make the drive available by loading the module and making the dev to
acces it ?
make a mount point ?

Yes. Mandrake Control Center -> Mount Points -> Diskdrake

Mandrake should not autoconfigure your drive after install ( i.e add a
mount ) because :
1�/ you may want to give your own mount point name
2�/ which name to choose ?
