It cannot possibly be! We beta testers have not had a testable 7.1
for over two weeks now. What are we supposed to be doing?

There is no freeze, at least because you must correct the bad iso
image and the problems we find - so there is at least one more total
testing cycle that we have not seen yet.

These things are pretty obvious, are they not?

There is also this showstopper:
============================================
* the beta iso images are not being propogated to the mirrors.
ftp.free.fr and tucows are the only places with the iso image
files. Neither has an rsync server, so the only iso file update
method is by total replacement.

Result: beta testing rendered impractical, except for those lucky
people who can download 1GB from a non-local slow mirror for every
change.

Action: beta testing has stopped until the problem is solved, or the
Cooker tree is reinstated as the formal exclusive 7.1 beta
distribution tree.
