Hi All

Although I'm not a developer for Mandrake packages, I do know something
about software and development.

I observe:
- There still isn't a snapshot of cooker
- I believe there should have been a first beta now
- There are a lot of problems with the current compiler (gcc 3.3.1)

Wouldn't it be a good idea to freeze/revert to a know good compiler, start
pumping out a stable version of the current cooker to put out to a more
general public and keep the compiler stable (except for broken situations).

It might be nice for one or two people to experiment with a newer compiler,
but as I see it now, it seems to be blocking general testing of cooker,
which could delay the next release, or make it a buggy release because of
haste at the last minute... (Like 9.1?)

Please tell me if I'm out of line, but I'd like mandrake to succeed!

Happy Hacking!

Simon
