When I did urpmi --auto-select, it had actually removed kdebase and kdemultimedia even though I said no. I only became aware of this when I tried to open a console and I actually wanted some noise. rpm -Uvh replaced kdemultimedia without comment. OK that's the command needed. I'll use it next update. Questions:- Should this be used as the default while the problem is being bebugged? Which is the key file in the new directory?
