I just rawwrote the network.img file to a floppy and booted to it. I am on
Cox@Home, so using DHCP for the setup wasn't an option ( since Cox requires
a Hostname (CX number) to dole out IP addresses ). So I typing in all my
networking info, and chose FTP, and tried NUMEROUS ftp sites from the list
of mirors for Hydrogen. Specifically rpmfind.net and wtfo.com. I was using
ALT-F3 to make sure that it was retrieving from the correct directory, and
it was. And using the browser on the computer next to me, I would point it
to the directory that manmdrake was looking at
linux/MandrakeCooker/cooker/Mandrake/base/mdk_stage2.img, or something like
that ) and the file was there, approx 8meg.
I must have tried this about 5 times with about 8 different HTTP/FTP sites
and NONE of them worked. I saw NO network activity on the modem blinking,
and it would just sit for about a minute each time, then come back with a
"Server bad response" or something like that.
How can I use the network install in Mandrake? I don't want todownload the
whole thing, and I don't want to burn beta ISOs ( only have a few blank CDs
left )
Thanks!
