Hello, I have two things I'd like to mention about abiword. Can abiword2 be moved from contribs to main? There was an earlier discussion about this iirc, and the conclusion then was that abiword1 had problems with the X fontpath. This doesn't count for abiword2 anymore, so the biggest stumbleblock is out of the way. Abiword2 is rather good now, even though 1.99.3 is still numbered as devel version. It can be said that there are already wordprocessors in main, like Kword and Openoffice, but Kword is for Kde, while Openoffice is very heavyweight. Abiword is for Gnome and lightweight. Also, the same counts for Spreadsheets, Gnumeric is in main as well. In the last few years there Abiword was mentioned in a few reviews as missing on the cds, and I think it would be a good thing to have it in main at least.
Also, I think abiword1 (1.0.6) can be dropped, because 1.99.3 is now really much better. It doesn't break the fontpath, and has much more functionality. Thierry is listed as official maintainer, so I don't feel I'm the one who should have the final say over it. -- Marcel Pol
