I've very quickly grown attached to AbiWord: it loads fast, has a pretty
clean interface, and seems to have a very active development community.

I agree with Marcel that AbiWord is extremely complementary to Gnumeric, as
well as to GNOME 2.4's maturity as a platform. Of course, KDE users still
benefit from the two applications.

The release roadmap also matches Mdk's release timing to a "T":
