OK, update: test3 seems a little unpredictable. I got it to boot after two more frozen boots, at various stages of the boot process. It crashed fairly soon after it booted, but the mouse *was* working, so apologies for the false alarm - whatever the problem was with test2 must have been fixed. I got the nvnet driver to compile, but it wouldn't load - says it was in an invalid format or something. I think that's probably the patch's problem rather than Mandrake's, however. -- adamw
