OK, but
# urpmi --auto-select would have worked, and so would have rebuilding the
package on any recent distribution. This bug can only be triggered by partial
update to cooker, or installing cooker binaries on a stable release, neither of
which are supported.
The problem is that the automatic dependencies were all met (since the problem
was which version of libcom_err.so was linked to), and IMHO it is ridicilous to
make provision for people running unsupported configurations while potentially
making life difficult for people doing the right thing (rebuilding packages on
older releases).
Please, in future if you get something like this which looks like a library
mismatch, either ensure your machine is up-to-date (if running cooker) or
rebuild the package (if you aren't).
So, I think my original suspicion on this bug (that it is invalid) is correct,
