I'm afraid that the main reason is that the version in cooker is so old. The 
latest version of miniChinput is 0.1.9.

miniChinput 0.1.9 works perfectly in 9.2. The ONLY setting needed is change IME 
style to "over the spot" in qtconfig, otherwise you cannot use it in KDE 
applications.

I've installed 9.2beta1 with zh_CN locale. As described in 4408, miniChinput was 
not installed by default.

So, I installed it by hand from RPMDrake. After restarting X, I couldn't input 
Chinese, either. The doc says I should press Ctrl+Space to invoke the IME, but 
nothing happened when I pressed it. The alphabet keys I pressed are still 
English letters which will appear on the screen as it is.
