This can't be fixed easily, unfortunately : when you are exiting, all GNOME
process are stopped immediatly, including the process sending the sound => sound
playing stops before it is finish.. Not very nice, I agree..

I suggest you fill a bug report at bugzilla.gnome.org if you want this to get
correctly fixed but hopes are VERY VERY low for that. Sorry.

In the May 18 Cooker, if you enable Sound Events and log out, the logout sound
is played, but is truncated by the logout before it can finish.  This probably
depends on the processor speed and the length of the .wav file, but you can
reproduce it on a 2.4GHz Pentium using /usr/share/sounds/logout.wav.
