Could you try with pilot-link 0.11.8-4mdk, it fixes a segfault if pilot-adress.

If it doesn't, you should try to work with David A. Desrosiers on pilot-link
mailing list to get this fix, I don't have enough knowledge (and hardware) to
fix this..

(BTW I think another person may be experiencing the same problem here, but I'm
not totally sure:
<http://lists.pilot-link.org/pipermail/pilot-link-general/2003-June/001195.html>)

[barryn barryn]$ export PILOTPORT=/dev/ttyS0
[barryn barryn]$ pilot-addresses -w myaddr.txt

   Listening to port: /dev/ttyS0

   Please press the HotSync button now... Connected

Writing Palm Address Book entries to file... Segmentation fault
[barryn barryn]$ ls -l myaddr.txt
-rw-r--r--    1 barryn   barryn          0 Jun 19 16:34 myaddr.txt

What other information could/should I provide to help debug this? (Would strace
output help?)

FWIW, strace ends with:
--- SIGSEGV (Segmentation fault) @ 0 (0) ---
+++ killed by SIGSEGV +++

So, perhaps it's a null pointer dereference...
