Now this is getting weird ... that one failed my tests :-(
and some people are reporting strange lilo messages,
for others it's working ...

and I have this problem that seems to be reiserfs related for me,
but not for you... hmmm...

Maybe it's because I need:
disk=/dev/sda bios=0x80
disk=/dev/sdb bios=0x81
disk=/dev/hda bios=0x82
#disk=/dev/hdb bios=0x83
disk=/dev/hdc bios=0x84
#disk=/dev/hdd bios=0x85
to get the disks sorted out, or the scsi disks will be overridden by
the hpt ide controller...
(on the other hand this is a setup that's been working since MDK 9.0)

now I reinstalled lilo-22.5.7.2-2mdk running 2.4.21-6.5tmbsecure,
and it worked as it should !?!?

I think I'll need to do a full reinstall on this system as soon as my
Cooker is synced enough for gendistrib to make it installable...
(seems to go the right way now, since it's not deleting anymore
when resyncing, only downloading...)

I will let you know if the problem persists...
