using 1152x864 resolution :
bottom panel with the following parameters :
orientation : bottom
height : 32
Display hide buttons 'checked'
change resolution using gnome-display-properties to a lower resolution.
Pressing one of the two hides buttons completely hide the panel, with no way to
get it back.
