well, i think xkb extension i superior to using xmodmap, it is just very
hard to use, and there is no easy way to remap a single key, unless you
play with xkbcomp and create a whole new keymap file.
maybe default /etc/X11/xinit/fixkeyboard could allow loading of a whole
.xkm file instead of just permitting to issue a setxkbmap command.
besides i noticed that
/etc/X11/xinit.d/Mod_Meta_L_Disable executes xmodmap whether we have xkb
enabled or not.
