This is useful in at least two scenarios: 
 
 
1) sometimes you have to reinstall mandrake because some program (official or 
unofficial) has stopped working, and deleting its configuration directory 
won't be enough. In that case, it is not pleasant to redownload the rpms. 
 
2) I want to install mandrake to a friend of mine without a fast internet 
connection. Ito would be nice to put the rpms installed in my system to his 
computer and rpm -Uvh *.rpm.

Please, add an option in the mandrake control center to keep rpms in 
/var/cache/urpmi/rpms. It's a pity to use the command line just for that reason.
