On Mandrake 9.2rc1, launching k3b gives the following warning :
No support for ATAPI with cdrdao
You will not be able to use all your reading devices as copy sources since there
is at least one not configured to use SCSI emulation and your system does not
support ATAPI with cdrdao.
Solution: The best and recommended solution is to enable ide-scsi (SCSI
emulation) for all writer devices. This way you won't have any problems.
I've tried to reproduce it and it appears even though I had this message as well
for my cdrw (which does not appear any more...)
Could not mount device.
The reported error was:

This is annoying as, for a multisession CDR, I cannot read the previous session.
I have to put it in my DVD to verify that all went well.

(maybe those two last lines explain why the second message does not appear any
more... they may not have been taken into account immediately, though rebooting
is not the way I expect Linux to make me work, reminds me too much of another
partition I now use for storage...).
oups I've just realized I launched it as a normal user and it worked this time,
my previous bug does not count... well, what's the point of rebooting with Linux ?
To conclude for this bug, could the install of mandrake apply from the start the
suggested solution ? "Solution: The best and recommended solution is to enable
ide-scsi (SCSI emulation) for all writer devices. ". I think the noobie (like me
BTW) won't know what to do with this message.
