Some of the issues are fixed but there are lots of new ones. Clearly
the individual package selection is badly broken. Someone needs to go
through each and every package. I have to believe that this can be done
programmatically. Also, whatever issue is causing the install to hang
must be fixed. There should be a general solution that would prevent the
hang no matter what the underlying cause is.
Here are the specifics of the issues in 9.2RC1:
Package Problem
=================================================================
dia can't select/unselect this package
autofs can't select/unselect this package
xemacs-extras can't select/unselect this package
GXedit causes the install to hang - meaning that once you
click on it, you are done. The install freezes. You
can still move the mouse but can't click on anything.

description:
When doing an "Install" of 9.2B1, if you are selecting
individual packages, clicking on the gif2png package causes
the install to hang.
On a related topic - openoffice.org cannot be selected. If you
click on it during install, a popup appears that says
"This package cannot be selected/unselected"
