I was wondering if anyone who has the ability (because I certainly
don't) to package RPMs could package up the speedtouch drivers for the
kernel (insted of user space)
The main thing you would need is either the bundle from
http://www.linux-usb.org/SpeedTouch/download/index.html or possibly just
the kernel module (if the other parts are already in mandrake).
Or the offical (and GPL'd) version from www.speedtouch.com
Then drake could (which I think it now does) ask for the firmware or
alternativly use the
http://osdn.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/speedtouch/speedtouch-1.2-beta2.tar.bz2
one. So the speedtouch modems will work out the box without any firmware
required.
Just an idea though
