Well, it does if you install autofs (and KDE network browsing for
smb,fish - ie ssh, ftp, nfs, http should also for 9.2).

If you think it would be good to install autofs when configuring NIS,
tell me, and maybe I can get Pixel to add it there too (he added autofs
to the packages that are installed when LDAP is seleceted, and DrakX
also adds "ldap" to the automount line of nsswitch.conf in this case, so
automount maps in LDAP should work out-the-box.

autofs works for this (see other mail).

Please check it autofs does everything you want, it does handles
browsing by hostname in /net.
