Well, you can use the RadiantStart bootsplash theme for that now I think ...

I had no comment, if I had one, it would be:

# urpme linux_logo
# echo linux_logo >> /etc/urpmi/skip.list
;-)

(Or do you mean that /etc/issue is adjusted even if you don't have
linux_logo installed?).

Our machines use motd instead ... with an empty /etc/issue on servers
(msec 4).
